New Mazda6 is provided with a full complement of safety measures to keep you in a relaxed, safe frame of mind to the end of the longest run. State-of-the-art active safety systems help you anticipate and avoid hazards, while a comprehensive passive safety package protects you and your passengers should an accident occur. The adaptive front lighting system (AFS) with Bi-Xenon headlamps* is a new feature added to Mazda6's long list of active safety measures that includes dynamic stability control, antilock brake system and brake assist.

The Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System is further uprated− greater reinforcements and wider use of high-tensile steel better absorb impact energy in front, side and rear collisions while maintaining a rigid safety cage around the passenger compartment. Of course, there's a full complement of front, side and curtain airbags, and Mazda6 even features Mazda's first active headrests and to help protect pedestrians, there's an energy-absorbing space between the bonnet and the engine to reduce the risk of head injuries, while the front bumper has energy-absorbing foam in the bumper beam to lessen leg injuries.

In spite of its sporty lines, Mazda6 offers a roomy, sophisticated interior with plenty of leg, shoulder and head room for all. In particular, the wheelbase is longer than the previous model's, allowing passengers in the rear to enjoy 20mm more leg room, as well as seats with ample cushion thickness for a comfortable fit. And no matter where you sit, you'll find plenty of convenient storage spaces nearby to keep items out of the way yet close to hand.

All interior materials were carefully chosen, with new textured paint, sophisticated materials and controlled glossiness adding to the air of craftsmanship, along with the micro-fine accuracy of parts fitment. The luggage area offers a full flat floor with minimal intrusions from the wheel houses, and the approximately 700mm closest to the tailgate offers one of the widest spaces in the class. This means loading heavy suitcases is easy and strain-free.
